All roads lead to Roam!

These days our Little Anya is in the phase where the only thing that she is interested in, apart from giving us generous smiles ofcourse is biting into whatever comes her way, the stuff ranges from the fingers and hands of all the people who like to hold her, the fleeces, the clothing material and ofcourse the plastic keys that are dedicated for this purpose. Once in her eagerness, she tried my nose, but soon realised that one should not bite more than one can chew!
Anyway, this series of photos is dedicated to Little Anya's self biting expeditions. At times, this keeps her busy and gives her parents the much needed respite..




We had been to Ludvika for past three days, with the entire 7th Army, complete with artillery support and the heavy armour . This was the first 'out-of-Västerås' experience for our Little Anya. It worked very well for her and she slept well in the car, despite my iPOD at times playing "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. Needless to say the new found taste in her own limbs helped her keep busy and satisfied.

Operation "Sea Lion"

Let me introduce you to the way Little Anya embraces the concept of a bath.Initially, it was a bit of a problem for her since her parents never had difficulties in simulating perfect bathing conditions for her.Sometimes the water was too warm or too cold, at times they used a bit too much of soap and used awkward methods to support her




..Over a period of time though it got better and one day suddenly they realised that Little Anya is big enough to fit into the reclining chair..That was the turning point in the history of cleanliness for Little Anya..That ofcourse meant that suddenly her daddy got a pair of free hands that he could use in taking a few hundred more snaps..but such is life, what cant be cured has to be endured!




It is nice to see her enjoying herself inside the minitub and splash the water , at times resulting in an extra bit of cleanliness in the kitchen..

On certain sunny days, she can actually have a lot of fun sun-bathing without having to leave the cozy home..

Bathing usually cheers Little Anya up and helps her to feel very hungry and then slide away into her endless dreams which we see as series of soundless smiles and cries on her face.

This is a classical pose where she appears to be solving a differential equation with her tongue out !

It is usually Mommy's job to apply soap and clean her up, while daddy is usually busy splashing water on her and making pigeon sounds to make her smile. Our Little Anya is quite a tight fisted personality. So one has to make an effort to maker her open her fists so that we can take care of the hygiene.

Well, bathing is incentive enough for her to smile. What follows could be accompanied by some struggle and cries since her Mommy likes to 'dry clean' her and you know how Moms could get a bit rough at times !

We often have to hold ourselves in perfect readiness to feed her after her water adventure.. like a military drill, the water has to be warmed and the solution on standby.

Usually she is very happy in the bath tub and often gives generous smiles without even having to whistle the Mendelsohn concerto in E minor.


but once out of the tub, she could get real hungry very fast..but her parents are closer to putting their act together than ever..so all is not lost yet!

We actually have a recent video of Little Anya in the tub, she appears to be pretty calm in this one, infact calmer than usual, but she is enjoying herself nonetheless.

Dance of light...

We had friends over and Little Anya was going around from one hand to the other like the baton of a relay race..It was evening and the sun was going down, our dinning area gets direct light in the evenings these days and we get nice golden light right into our kitchen !





Well, such were the lighting conditions and Little Anya was in a silent and contemplative mood, meanwhile her daddy decided once again to play paparazzi. The results are for all of us to enjoy ofcourse !

Ofcourse different people around arousing her curiosity, she was seen staring at all of us.

The one with the Mommy...

Yes friends, Little Anya has a very special bond with her Mom, which makes her Daddy almost a bit jealous at times. However Little Anya has had a habit of showering her Daddy with some very nice smiles whenever she sees him. That keeps the jealousy part at bay !



Her Mom, over the period of time, has developed some expertise and experience in handling Little Anya and putting her to sleep is a bastion that is totally unchallenged by the Daddy. Yes, Little Anya did used to fall asleep on Daddy, but that is a thing of the past now. These days it is the Mommy that is required for sleep.



Mommy's shoulder is still the best to be on ! These days Daddy is catching up in being able to carry her around and keeping her amused all the time. Daddy has developed the mirror trick, which almost guarantees a lot of smiles and a good mood. That trick usually backfires only when Little Anya is very tired, thankgod, these days her Daddy knows when NOT to resort to the mirror trick !


Little Anya sure has some difficulties being carried by people she has never seen before. Unfortunately, some of our dear friends have been subjected to a very loud complaining howl. However, she is getting more and more comfortable with people around her. Infact, she likes to look at faces and bless them with her beatific smile.

In particular, if she is with her Mommy, she could spend a lot of time looking at visitors at different angles and keeping them amused.

This one is one of the classics from the old days when our Little Anya was 'littler' than she is today and would always like to 'exchange warmth' with her Mommy while sleeping. It is definitely one of the nature's riddles as to how both the mother and the daughter could sleep blissfully in this position..good for the likes of us who do the paparazzi bit all the time !


This is another rare one from the past where the viewers get quite a look inside her teethless interiors..the king size yawns are quite common, it is a bit rare that we can lay our hands on a camera at that very time..oh well, it is yawn time, time for Mommy to do her bit !

The "demon eyes "

Amongst the range of her moods , little Anya sometimes displays immense concentration and focus in her gaze..We still dont know as to what the object of focus really is, but she does remind us of the sketches of demons that we have seen in the comic books

We are unanimous in deciding that this mood pertains more to joy rather than anything else, sometimes it is accompanied by continuous pigeon sounds...and tight fists too !

They grow so fast...

Little Anya is over three months now, over 6 kgs and 61 cms , things are developing, smiles are more frequent, the cries at times have even more power and so on, in other words, she manages pretty well in keeping us busy by changing her schedule just a little more often than the half of life of a positron..

Well, yesterday, the new thing was that she decided to turn over on her own, with a little help to free her hands that kind of got caught beneath her 'undercarriage'..though it was a small step for the humanity but it was a giant step forward in her development ! (which means extra care in changing tables and just about everywhere)

Is definitely more stable in her head than her father for example, some definitely learn early and the rest make it a life time project..

Has become particularly tricky to feed her at times since she is interested in looking at something totally behind her or at wierd angles..so distracting her and getting her to concentrate her on food is one of the latest challenges that her parents are facing..



Her gaze definitely is focussed more than ever and is able to track an object, especially a moving one at all odd angles so as to make it excruciatingly difficult for her parents to maintain the alignment of the feeding bottle !


It is quite a treat when her eyes are open and she is expected to burp, because she ends up giving hundreds of poses and doing millions of things other than burping ! We manage that procedure reasonably well but when we dont, the contents of her alimentary canal often make their presence felt in a truely ballistic way..

Whatever we might say, Anya always delights us with her toothless smiles or even grins, expressed even with her eyes and that is when she becomes quite a delectable piece for us. Atleast so far, she does not mind our constant attempts at devouring her..we will have to see in the future if we will have to look for some other piece of meat.

Another hallmark of her daily routine is some vigorous hand and leg movements. This is often done with so much energy that we can hear the movements as thumping ! Some say, she likes to exercise her limbs and some say that she will be in the funds recovery business ..As it appears not much of intellectual exercise appears to be possible for her right now, why not exercise the limbs then !? Oh yes...these exercises are almost always followed by an intense look on her face as if she wants to attack an army just with her looks !

This belongs to the times when she had just started to please with her endless smiles. This one is special for us since we did not have to trick her into smiling, she actually gave a giant grin to Lakshmi and we managed to capture the smile that ended the grin ! Well sometimes we are surprised as to what can bring that million dollar worth grin, it could be a simple piece of furniture lying harmlessly in the house or sometimes the conscious efforts of her hapless parents. Nonetheless we are glad !
